There have been many posts lately regarding Chrome OS, file management, and The Cloud. In the current implementation files can be saved to your downloads and then uploaded to a page later. This is useful in some circumstances, but can be cumbersome if you are basically always connected to The Cloud.
My thoughts on a better solution would be an option to save directly to Google Docs.
It would look like this:
Right-click or Double tap
- Save as...
-- in the pop-up window, the downloads folder and Google Docs
Clicking on the Google Docs folder would allow for direct save to Google Docs
I noticed that I had been saving documents in my downloads only to then upload them to Google Docs. It seems like this process could be automated more through a script to make it simpler. Then Google Docs becomes the de-facto file management tool for Chrome OS connected to The Cloud.
Any thoughts?

ChromeOS - ability to arrange Apps in new tab!!!
After using my new Cr-48 for a couple weeks now I managed to accumulate enough Apps that their order, or disorder, became noticeable...
So, it seems like the "new tab" is becoming a proxy for my old desktop... but... it's on the cloud.... right???
I have noticed that I seem to be keeping a blank "new tab" up a lot more of the time just to have it there if I decide that I need it.
I just got the newest update to the OS and it was great, it is now possible to arrange the apps by dragging them around. This already seems very useful.
Now, if they had an ability to resize the icons so I could make them all about 75% of the size they are now, that would be nice... and maybe an ability to better mix the Apps with the pages...
Which makes me wonder... is there any technical reason that the Apps need to be separated from the Most Visited and Recently Closed pages?
For instance, if I could drag "Most visited 1" and "most visited 2" in to the apps it would be nice.
Not necessary, not at all, but maybe nice... just some more shiny to make it easier to use...
I'm still really enjoying this system!!!

Cloud print and one odd question...
I set up cloud print today from
http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/p/cloudprint.html
and did a test page from my Cr-48. It was very quick, faster than I was expecting. I'll test this out with more substantial files I think and see how it goes. I can see this feature being very useful in certain situations, but I'm not too sure how much I will need to use it when I'm not actually at my house. I can't really remember any time when I really wanted to print something at home while I was out but couldn't... hmmmmm
On another note, I found something strange a couple days ago...
On my Cr-48 in the Omnibar I was playing around and I found that when I type chrome://menu it brings up a strange looking screen and the next page I attempt to load from that tab crashes and I get a reset browser instance. I can close the tab and continue operating as normal...What's up with this??
I'll check it out some more and see if I can figure out what or why that happens.
Still having a great time with this device :)
